Dr. Mikkelsen presents at 4th Annual International Low Intensity Laser Therapy Conference in Toronto Canada, April 2006
The program focused on The Science of Laser Therapy, Advances in Laser Therapy, The Proper Selection of a Laser Device, Research in Laser Therapy as well as Laser Therapy in a variety of clinical practices. The conference was designed for healthcare professionals interested in improving their knowledge of laser therapy as a non-invasive, drug free technology for treating musculoskeletal problems including degenerative conditions, arthritis and sports injuries.
Dr. Mikkelsen presented “Selecting and Implementing a Laser Device” to other healthcare professionals. His presentation covered the assessment process, selection, preparation required for implementation and overcoming resistance to change.
Other presenters included the leading experts in their respective fields: Tiina Karu, Ph.D, Professor of laser biology and medicine as well as the head of the Laboratory of Laser Biology and Medicine at the Institue on Laser and Informatic Technologies of Russian Academic Science.

Mary Dyson Ph.D., C. Biol., F.A.I.U.M. (Hon.), Emeritus Reader in the Biology of Tissue Repair at King’s College (KCL), University of London, UK and an Honorary Reader in the Department of Physiology, University College, London. She was President of the International Laser Therapy Association from 1992-1994, is a founding member of the World Association for Laser Therapy and a member of the North American Association for Laser Therapy.
Chukuka S. Enwemeka, P.T., Ph.D., F.A.C.S.M., Professor and Dean of the School of Health Professions, Behavioral and Life Sciences at the New York Institute of Technology, Co-editor-in-Chief of Photomedicine and Laser Surgery and one of the foremost authoroties on lasers and light-based treatment modalities.
