LaserCare opens LILT clinic in Langley
The first of many planned clinics is located within the Lifeforce Proactive Health Centre, at
4041 – 200th Street. Since the opening in the fall of 2005, the LaserCare team has been refining the office flow and creating the ideal “patient-centred” model for future locations.

LaserCare launches new website
The LaserCare website is a professionally designed powerhouse of patient and physician information on Low Intensity Laser Therapy. The site was designed to give the average person, with no medical or science background, enough information to become informed on Laser Therapy and to determine if LILT is suitable for them or loved ones. It was also designed as a leading resource for physicians requiring more information. The site allows the user to obtain a true sense of the LaserCare team they will meet in person.

The program focused on The Science of Laser Therapy, Advances in Laser Therapy, The Proper Selection of a Laser Device, Research in Laser Therapy as well as Laser Therapy in a variety of clinical practices. The conference was designed for healthcare professionals interested in improving their knowledge of laser therapy as a non-invasive, drug free technology for treating musculoskeletal problems including degenerative conditions, arthritis and sports injuries.

Dr. Mikkelsen presented “Selecting and Implementing a Laser Device” to other healthcare professionals. His presentation covered the assessment process, selection, preparation required for implementation and overcoming resistance to change.

Other presenters included the leading experts in their respective fields: Tiina Karu, Ph.D, Professor of laser biology and medicine as well as the head of the Laboratory of Laser Biology and Medicine at the Institue on Laser and Informatic Technologies of Russian Academic Science.

Mary Dyson Ph.D., C. Biol., F.A.I.U.M. (Hon.), Emeritus Reader in the Biology of Tissue Repair at King’s College (KCL), University of London, UK and an Honorary Reader in the Department of Physiology, University College, London. She was President of the International Laser Therapy Association from 1992-1994, is a founding member of the World Association for Laser Therapy and a member of the North American Association for Laser Therapy.
Chukuka S. Enwemeka, P.T., Ph.D., F.A.C.S.M., Professor and Dean of the School of Health Professions, Behavioral and Life Sciences at the New York Institute of Technology, Co-editor-in-Chief of Photomedicine and Laser Surgery and one of the foremost authoroties on lasers and light-based treatment modalities.

First Annual LaserCare Professional Team Member Symposium
The symposium is (was) the first annual educational, brainstorming and teambuilding weekend for the practitioners, therapists, support staff and management team of LaserCare. The purpose is (was) to present both basic and applied information on LaserCare with the main emphasis on exceeding expectations in patient care and clinical procedures.
